You have chosen to disable icons, so a non-breaking space ( ) is
used for the sort indicator.  It is underlined because its a
hyperlink.  I guess I didn't pay too much attention to that when
coding it. :-o  I'm open to suggestions as to which characters should
be there.

You have to disable icons, or choose "No Icons" as your icon theme to
see what he is seeing, Jonathan.

I don' think SQM ever auto-magically sized the left pane, if that's
what your suggesting.  However, its possible that the exact formatting
of the tables, etc was changed slightly with the introduction of
templates in the left pane.  I'd suggest simply changing your default
left-column width.  Check Options > Folder Prefernces.
