I've put the old server out to pasture and have installed a latest and
greatest PHP/Apache2/SSL/SM (etc, etc, etc.). I got SM set up with a few
plugins and it seems to work alright, expect when I attempt to send a
message from within SM. For each email I send, I get the following error:

ERROR:
ERROR: Bad or malformed request.
Server responded: Missing literal in APPEND

but the mail still gets sent out.

I'm using version 1.4.5 (under FreeBSD 6 -- at least that's what the login
page states) and from my own index.php, I have the following:

Apache/2.0.55 (FreeBSD) PHP/5.1.1 DAV/2 SVN/1.3.0-rc2 mod_ssl/2.0.55
OpenSSL/0.9.7i

And my IMAP settings are:

IMAP Settings
--------------
4. IMAP Server : localhost
5. IMAP Port : 993
6. Authentication type : login
7. Secure IMAP (TLS) : true
8. Server software : uw
9. Delimiter : detect

SMTP Settings
-------------
4. SMTP Server : localhost
5. SMTP Port : 25
6. POP before SMTP : false
7. SMTP Authentication : none
8. Secure SMTP (TLS) : false
9. Header encryption key :

I've been using IMAP with Outlook Express (behind my firewall) and have
have no troubles.

Is there a patch I need to apply (small changes in the php code or
something) to make the error go away or is this a real error that is
causing real problems (possible bug in PHP 5.1.1 or SSL something?) ?

Thanks,
Jeff.
