Not recommended for Maildir and Courier, at least in cPanel installation. There 
are
special config files (e.g. quota) that keep track of messages, etc., so if you
simply FTP, then you risk the mail account not working properly.

Anyway, I did transfer what I needed, using Outlook (as Paul and I discussed). 
Now
I'm wondering if an SM plugin could be created to do it direct from 
server-to-server
rather than using a local PC client as intermediary.
