Receiving?  If you want to *receive* a read receipt, then it's up to
the sender to include it in the email they send you - nothing to do
with SquirrelMail.  If you want SquirrelMail to allow you to respond
to them, make sure you have it enabled in the configuration tool:

4.  General Options ===> 8.  Allow use of receipts

Also check in the SquirrelMail interface:

Options ===> Display Preferences ===> Enable Mail Delivery Notification
