I've got the exact same problem. I'm not using sqwebmail 0.99 though, but
sqwebmail-0.37a.38pre8.
[root@zeus authlib]# ./authtest -m authvchkpw [EMAIL PROTECTED] secret

Home directory: /home/vpopmail/domains/domain.com/user

[EMAIL PROTECTED]
