Are you sure about this? I'm referring to creating a distribution list
within the address book, not at the top of an email message.

If I don't put a comma separated list in the address part of the address
book, it strips out any whitespace between addresses and concatenates
all the addresses to form an illegal address. I have also tried putting
angled brackets around each address, but again, they get stripped so you
end up with one long address made of many separate email addresses.
