and particularly considering this is an ezmlm list, it's trivial to add a footer on each message listing some particulars, like 'unsubscribe' address, archive address, etc.


but then, i've mentioned that option at least two or three times before, so apparently it's not going to happen. i guess those extra 200 bytes of traffic per mailing would bring the internet to its knees.

unlike the 20k and 30k threads that were going through the list a week or two back.

People are asking this fairly regularly now.  It would be a good thing if
all web pages to this mailing list were accompanied by a reference to the
archive.  That is actually the ordinary organization for mailing lists, in
my experience.  I usually do not see this question coming up on other
mailing lists.
