I would have said both - ordered by subfolders, and then the messages
(or maybe open an extra frame to show subfolders, above the current view
that shows messages). I'm not using this feature, but this is how I
personally would have thought it would work. Now I think about it, the
way you say it works now is logical too though. Guess it's just what you
get used to.
