invalid user id or password

hi,

i have installed sqwebmail-0.37a on a redhat 6.2 box with php-3.0.15-2 
and the default config. i did not edit anything as reading the readme
and install files, it says sqwebmail will 'figure it out'.

my problem is that i get a "invalid user or password" error when i try
to log in.

am running qmail-1.03-102memphis.

please, has anyone any ideas what i have done wrong or what i need to
configure to make it work. will i have to edit the configure file and
rebuild?
