I finally got fed up with trying to make 0.99 work and thought I'd see 0.36
would go as smoothly as Jessie says it did for him... well, I d/l'd 0.37a,
but it still worked as smoothly as I thought it should have... do I dare say
a small bug may have been introduced into 0.99 that at the least affect
vhkpw authentication??

I had the same problem, try useing the authtest program from the sqwebmail-
0.99/authlib dir. Try to test authentication.
I could get the authtest program to work fine, but the actual sqwebmail
wouldn't. Ironically, I tried sqwebmail-0.36 and it worked fine (using exact
same configure too). Im not sure the reason on this, but it worked.
