courier folders and international characters

Hello,

I've just installed courier-imap with 
vpopmail and sqwebmail.
The problem is that swedish characters in 
the imap folders names are all mangled (wrong).
Is there any solution ?
The folder names are OK when i look in netscape mail 
and outlook. 
Im running the latest versions of all progams.
The OS is SuSE-Linux 2.2.13.
