Well I got it figured out today. Thought I'd post my solution for
anyone else that may have this problem. As it turns out the RPM's all loaded
fine, but the problem that I encountered was in my /etc/named.conf file. I
installed the RPM's with the -Fvh option. I have multiple virtual domains
and the primary domain was the one that wasn't working. Upon looking at the
Serial portion of the zone files I found that the primary domain had a
different ending number than any of the working domains, so I change it to
be the same, did a "ndc restart", and lo-and-behold I'm back up and working
perfectly. I must admit, the proposition of switching to tinydns was the
motivating factor for me to resolve this issue, since it is just too great
of a learning curve for me at present. Thanks for the suggestions.
