Nope. There's nothing in the code that ever deletes the addressbook file.
The addressbook file is updated by creating a new addressbook file in tmp,
then renaming it on top of the new file.
Perhaps your system periodically runs a cleanup script that attempts to
delete old mail from maildirs, but which also deletes the addressbook file
by mistake.
