Alias names

We're using qmail+sqwebmail+courier imap and we're using /etc/aliases to map
firstname.lastname to the loginid of our users. When accessing mail services
with an imap client, you can configure the client to use
[EMAIL PROTECTED], but I have not found such an option in
sqwebmail. Is it possible to achieve something like this with sqwebmail?
