sqwebmail default settings

How can I modify the default settings for sqwebmail? For example, I'd like to change 
the default trash empty interval and the default connection timeout interval.

Also, how can I change all those defaults on for a single user? I do not see in the 
"Preferences" area anything that lets me change the idle timeout.
