sendit.sh not working

Dear all, 

My server is currently running qmail 1.03+sqwebmail 2.0.0. AFAIK, sqwebmail 
is supposed to send messages using /usr/local/share/sqwebmail/sendit.sh. 
However, it seems that my installation doesn't use it because when I 
inserted the line: 

echo "$1" > /var/log/sqwebmail.log 

to it, it doesn't output anything to the file. 

Another question, sqwebmail is supposed to use the From: as envelope sender, 
isn't it?
