If you really care then it is pretty trivial to add this to
authdaemond. It only takes about three lines of code to
authlib/authdaemond.c as the included patch demonstrates. I've never
looked at the source for sqwebmail; it took less time to write the
patch than to write this email.
Disclaimer: I haven't even bothered to compile, much less test this
patch. It's not functionality I'm interested in, personally.
