Instead of full regex, wouldn't glob matching be better?  Perhaps with an
"advanced" option for those who comprehend regex?  Globs could be converted
to regex for maildrop.

I know I prefer to use regex for my filtering, but I also know that few
of my users are willing to learn regex.  I hope many would be able to
understand the glob definitions of '*' and '?'.

(Apologies for coming to the conversation late.  Hopefully I'm not
repeating an earlier suggestion.)
