Yes I think this should be better documented than it is. I barely stumbled on this
one. What I ended up doing is in Apache's httpd.conf setting
SetEnv SQWEBMAIL_AUTORENAMESENT no
If you are configuring Sqwebmail by hand there is also a ./configure option to disable
it.
I put the SetEnv all the way at the bottom of my httpd.conf (this is stock RedHat
Apache).
My last few lines look
SetEnv SQWEBMAIL_AUTORENAMESENT no
</VirtualHost>
</IfDefine>
