Maybe I'm completely blind but there is no hint in the webmail/ source
tree that sqwebmail would use imap/pop3 at all! sqwebmail directly
accesses the Maildir/ directories of the users and therefore has to be
on the same machine.
Try squirrelmail for an imap and horde/imp (slow?) for a pop3 alternative.
