I never did work this problem out with sqwebmail-3.4.0.20021026 . I ended up using version 3.3.7 without the authdaemon to get by this. When I reported the bug, nobody believed me. Now I get email weekly from people with the same problem. By this evidence, I can only assume that some people must have got it working. I wonder what they have done differently. Let me know if you find out. Otherwise, perhaps using 3.3.7 as I did will help you for now. PS: sqwebmail-3.4.0.20021124 was released since I last tried the 3.4 series, so my findings may be out of date.
