this is a repost with an update...
I'm having a problem with sending mail. I don't remember all of the options
I compiled sqwebmail with, but I'm using courrier, shadow passwords, forced
-ssl login, authdaemond (maybe a couple of other options). Sqwebmail was
working perfectly for months up until Monday morning (1/27/03). I haven't
changed a thing, but now when I try to send e-mail messages through
sqwebmail I get a big RED error message that says "Unable to send mail".
Sqwebmail is properly passing the message to postfix because recipients are
receiving the mail, but the messages aren't being sent to the Sent folder.
***They are instead being sent to the Draft folder. I checked the .Sent dir
in Maildir and the permission are fine:
[max@luxor .Sent]$ ls -lh
total 36k
drwx------ 2 max max 4.0k Jan 28 13:02 cur/
-rw------- 1 max max 0 Jan 1 13:47 maildirfolder
drwx------ 2 max max 4.0k Jan 1 13:47 new/
-rw------- 1 max max 19k Jan 28 10:35
sqwebmail-curcache.gdbm
-rw------- 1 max max 5 Jan 28 13:02 sqwebmail-curcnt
-rw------- 1 max max 0 Jan 1 13:47
sqwebmail.Sent.2002.12-Dec
drwx------ 2 max max 4.0k Jan 28 13:02 tmp/
****I've got more than 2 GB free diskspace.
Permissions on sqwebmail in cgi-bin are unchanged:
[max@luxor cgi-bin]$ pwd
/var/www/cgi-bin
[max@luxor cgi-bin]$ ls -la
total 672
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Nov 7 01:26 ./
drwxr-xr-x 6 apache apache 4096 Jun 20 2002 ../
-rw-r--r-- 1 apache apache 268 Jun 20 2002 printenv
-rwx------ 1 apache apache 20847 Mar 14 2002 squidGuard.cgi*
-rwsr-xr-x 1 root root 431871 Sep 29 23:47 sqwebmail*
-rw------- 1 apache apache 757 Jun 20 2002 test-cgi
-rwx------ 1 root root 204255 Feb 24 2002 wwsympa.fcgi*
I restarted the machine didn't get the error msg with the first test message
I sent, but all subsequent messages yield the "Unable to Send Message." And
I can't find anything in my logs that point to an anomoly.
Anyone have any ideas? Does it have anything to do with the fact that the
new sqwebmail was released on the same day? ;)
***Also since webmail started acting up, I've been receiving multiple
messages from senders... about 7 copies of each message. Could it be a
problem with my MTA?
