Hi there Just got this one sorted out yesterday. As far as I can see, you should not compile any of the authdeamon stuff. If you rip that part out everything is working fine. Still don't understand why, if somebody on the list can explain this one. How does sqwebmail know how to auth. Anyway here is your answer.
./configure --without-authdaemon --with-module=authvchkpw --without-authpgsql --without-authmysql --without-authpam --without-authuserdb --enable-webpass=vpopmail --without-authpwd --without-authshadow --without-authcustom --without-authldap --without-authdaemon The without-authdeamon above is the important part, don't know how much of the other stuff you can leave out, but this should work. Remember to stop your authdeamon currnetly running. I get an "Invalid User ID or Password" This is how I am setup on a Linuw redHat 8.0 box: 1 - Qmail 1.3 installed following the latest "Life with Qmail" instructions 2 - Vpopmail 5.2.1 with these options: ./configure --enable-roaming-users=y 3 - Sqwebmail 3.5.0 with these options: ./configure --disable-changepass --enable-maxpurge=7 --with-defaultlang=en --enable-cgibindir=/var/www/cgi-bin --enable-imagedir=/var/www/html --enable-imageurl=/sqwebmail I went in /usr/local/share/sqwebmail/authdaemonrc to change the authentication module to: authmodulelistorig="authvchkpw" Qmail works fine. Vpopmail works fine and I have checked vchkpw and that works fine too. So it is just the authentication on the webmail page that doesn't work. What can I do about it? Please let me know. Regards, Stephane.
