I hate to follow up to my own thread, but I did find 5.3.8 and still get
the same error. I have also noticed that if I:

/usr/local/sqwebmail/libexec/authlib/authdaemond stop
/usr/local/sqwebmail/libexec/authlib/authdaemond start

The user can log in for awhile.
