Firstly, I am pretty much a newbie to linux..... I have a Redhat 7.2 system that I am trying to setup qmail and sqwebmail on. Qmail sorted, no problems. The install of sqwebmail seemed to go okay, however when I try to login via the web page I get an "Invalid user ID or password" error message. I checked the authentication daemon running and it was authdaemond.pgsql. pgsql was installed when I was trying to get a product called amphora to run, it never worked so I no longer use it, therefore I modified the authdaemond file to only load authdaemond.plain. This is now the running auth daemon.
I have looked high and low for a log file that gives me a clue as to why it is failing, no luck. I have run the authtest username password and it gives me:- Authenticated: module authdaemon Home directory: /home/danny UID/GID: 500/500 AUTHADDR=danny AUTHFULLNAME=<none> Anone got any ideas or other things for me to check.
