Brian, as always, JUST after sending the question about maildirs/mboxes to the list, I figured out that the culprit was, in fact, Squirrelmail and not sqwebmail -- apologies!

It doesn't even have any code capable of writing to a mbox file. Folders created by sqwebmail are done using the maildir++ convention: Maildir/tmp /new /cur /.MyFolder/tmp # A folder /new /cur /.MyFolder.Subfolder/tmp # A folder within a folder /new /cur > 2. Are there any other skins/templates available for sqwebmail? Some people have been working on them; the list archives at http://www.mail-archive.com/sqwebmail%40inter7.com/ may give some pointers, but I'm not sure at what release stage they are. The templates in the core package have recently changed to make them XML-compliant, and template writers had been discouraged from working on them until this work was complete.
