The latest (stable) OpenLDAP release is 2.1.22 (2.1.25 is out now). As I'm informed LDAP version 2.1.X dosn't work with BDB 4.2.X.
OpenLDAP 2.1.25 is compatible with BDB 4.2.52. I am still testing the combo, but it seems to be working fine.
