That last option is invalid and does nothing.

You need "--without-authdaemon", or else to upgrade to a less buggy
version
of vpopmail.

As Sam says, when you compile, it spits out a very large message saying
that
any problems with vpopmail authentication must be taken to the vpopmail
mailing list, not here.
