It was an easier transition from `gets_statistics` to `fetch` to have them as
string, given get_statistics printed them inside a string, without reviewing
all kind of values that could have been returned and don't have to deal with
signed/unsigned types. It would rather easy to add another rpc command to
return the values as numbers.
