I tried to implement a fix, but immediately stumbled on another potential
issue: How can `rtpp_no` be read/kept uptodate under a different lock than the
lock that protects the actual list of nodes (`rtpp_set_list->rset_head_lock`)?
What happens if those get out-of-sync?
