I looked over the code again and it is no relation with the execution path and 
the referenced commit. I tend to say that it looks like a buffer overflow 
somewhere else or the "classic" issues encountered with libssl 3.x library. 

Therefore, if you are using libssl 3.x (which seems to be in Debian Bookworm), 
iirc, better support for it was added in Kamailio v5.8. Before that, random 
crashes could happen at TLS layer, inside libssl, before Kamailio could even 
read a byte of SIP data.
