if you use release 5.1.x or branches 5.1 or master, then you can do:
KSR.siptrace.hlog("log message here");
Not much documentation about it, but the prototype is listed at:

Documentation for the behaviour of the corresponding kamailio.cfg
function is in the siptrace readme.
