Hello George, the existing function might just what the developer needed that time. Feel free to submit a feature request or (even better) a pull request to our tracker about these extensions.

Also the function's usefulness remains limited if there's no way to provide a custom string for the icid-generated-at parameter's value... From the documentation it is not evident how the PCV header is generated. Are the exported $pcv pseudovariables writable, so that the function canl use those when generating the header? Thanks!
