Hello, 5.3.x is very old, no longer maintained. It is recommended to upgrade to a maintained version (5.6.x or 5.7.x), or at least the last version in the 5.3.x series if you can't do a major update quickly.
I recall some changes to the tm module over the time, not sure if they were during 5.3.x release, earlier or afterwards, but I don't think someone will spend time to dig in for an unmaintained version, it might be something that was already fixed.
