Hello John, these warnings were added to provide more insight into some special crash situations if I remember correctly. They are generated when some inconsistencies in the internal DNS cache are detected during operations.
Some of these warnings were turned to DBG log level again in commit 754f9ae28c9a731f, but not the ones you mentioned. If you Kamailio servers run ok and don’t e.g. crash or show memory leaks, it’s probably not much to worry about. If it happens all the time for several people and/or you observe other issues, it’s probably also a good idea to investigate more, either fix it or silence them by change the log level to DBG as well. We immediately started to receive a log of warning logs similar to `dns_hash_put_shm_unsafe(): unlinked item 0x7f08799dcd90` The code shows that this warning log was added to the DNS cache in september 2023 - but its unclear what it means to have an unlinked item exactly? Is anyone able to shed any light on how DNS entries might become unlinked, and what the implications of it are? thanks John Larsen John Larsen Tech Lead E John.Larsen@symbio.global<mailto:John.Larsen@symbio.global> W symbio.global<https://www.symbio.global/> [cid:image001.png@01DB7BCF.46AA6360] [cid:image002.png@01DB7BCF.46AA6360] This communication is intended only for the person to whom it is addressed and may contain confidential material.
