Description We are looking for a Web Application Developer to work with our Information Systems team and key business staff to design and develop the underlying programming to facilitate the processing of data to and from the MAGIC source system (Natural/Adabas) via a middleware component (ApplinX from Software AG) resulting in new GUI screens. Experience in Natural/Adabas or the middleware component is not required, however the ability to learn and use the middleware product and understand mainframe concepts is essential. The GIC will provide onsite training from our Information Systems team in the use of the middleware product. The Web Application Developer requirements: a.. 5+ years experience developing web applications on a .NET platform with the Visual Studio IDE and the Visual Studio SDK. b.. Apply problem solving and technical skills to debug code and integration issues. c.. Solid understanding of web development techniques including detailed understanding of Object-oriented concepts and specific knowledge of .NET objects. d.. Solid knowledge of multi-tiered system architectures involving web services and application servers, and middleware products e.. Web development skills: ASP.NET; C#; XML; IIS web service platform; HTML; SQL f.. Familiarity with business workflow applications and apply concepts to systems design. g.. Experience with designing and implementing end user reporting using common industry reporting tools that utilize SQL queries for basic reports. h.. Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills. i.. Ability to conceptualize new technical solutions and processes to better achieve business requirements. j.. Experience with SQL Server programming, Business Intelligence development, SSIS packages, stored procedures k.. Life and/or health insurance industry related experience. l.. Experience with Software AG's ApplinX middleware platform, or ability to learn this technology platform. m.. Experience with Tortoise SVN or comparable source version control systems n..
