*Production support Engineer/ Analyst/ Consultant*

*Location ; Stamford.  Duration 6-12 months*

The Production Services Group within OPS IT is looking for a *candidate to
manage a regional production support and services team* (15 perm +
outsource staff split between Stamford and Singapore).  The position will
be located in Stamford CT and will report functionally to the Regional Head
of Production Services.  This position is a hands-on technical role that
will provide  1) day-to-day management oversight to the support team  2)
create and maintain relationships (e.g. Operations, Development and
Infrastructure)  at a senior stakeholder level  3) apply business, support
process, monitoring and technical knowledge to define improvements to the
existing application support model and  4) apply best practices used by
other global / regional support teams as well as influence global
processes, procedures and service improvements with those innovations
identified within their own region.



*General Qualifications*



• A minimum of 8 years experience within an Investment Bank or financial
organization managing Level 2 or Level 3 support groups

• Solid management skills specific to directing the day-to-day activities
of technical support organization

• Experience managing teams in multiple geographic locations that use a
follow-the-sun model

•  Ability to provide hands-on technical and functional support (and
guidance) analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale, highly resilient,
distributed systems

•  Experience leading complex technical projects and teams until a
particular production issue is solved

• Solid track record implementing continuous improvement and problem
management programs

• Ability to implement tools to improve monitoring, automate redundant
tasks or help troubleshoot applications and/or infrastructure issues

• Ability to improve the overall stability of the system through BCP and
capacity planning

• Complete understanding of change and release management best practices

• Good understanding of the ITIL Service Framework (incident mgmt, problem
mgmt, release mgmt, event mgmt etc.)

• Complete understanding of the SDLC

• Broad knowledge and understanding of the Clearance and Settlement
functions and technologies

• Proven incident & crisis management skills with the ability to perform
under pressure, ensuring effective and timely resolution

• Ability to understand the problems as a business user describes them and
translate them into a specific technical problem

• Proven stakeholder management skills (Operations, Development and
infrastructure teams) - must be able to communicate complex technical
issues in business terms, properly set expectations and adequately
follow-up with all stakeholders

• Understand the time sensitive nature and business needs of the Operations
team and manage service expectations accordingly

*Preferred Qualifications*



• Four year degree or international equivalent preferably a Computer
Science Degree or similar degree with a technical emphasis and which
stresses logical thinking / problem solving

• A development background

• Strong knowledge of front-to-back Investment Bank trade flow / Operations
processes

•  Working knowledge of Webserver technologies: Websphere, Apache, Tomcat

• Complete understanding of the SDLC

• Exposure to both waterfall and agile development practices

• Understanding of the ITIL Service Framework

• Knowledge of Service Now ticketing systems



*Technical Skills*



• In-depth Linux/Unix skills

• Solid scripting skills in Shell or Perl

• Strong understanding of networking technologies, infrastructure and
TCP/IP protocols

• Experience with middleware technologies (MQ / Tibco RV & EMS)

• General RDBMS (Oracle or Sybase) knowledge

•  Working knowledge of Webserver technologies:  Websphere, Apache, Tomcat

• Hands-on experience with Autosys job scheduler
