*Position : QA Tester with Mainframe Experience* *location : Malvern PA Contract : 6 month* *Briefly describe the duties and responsibilities:* Purpose: To provide intermediate level System Testing services to support Fund Financial business and IT project teams, System Test custom development and 3rd party products. Duties and Responsibilities: This staff member completes the following activities under minimal direction: Provides intermediate level systems and integration testing services for software, hardware, and/or middleware. Applications/databases are mainframe-, client/server-, Web-, or PC-based. Analyzes project documentation written by other team members (includes the functional and non-functional requirements and unit and integration test plans) to ensure the requirements are testable and the full range of system aspects are being tested. Translates functional and non-functional requirements and technical specifications into test scenarios and test scripts for new development or enhancement projects for internal clients. Participates in the creation of comprehensive test strategy, including those for functionality, volume, load/stress, performance, security, configuration, and business continuity. Provides tractability of requirements to test scripts. Leads/Participates in Inspections and other client meetings throughout the project life cycle to identify scope issues. Leads/Participates in brainstorming and related client meetings. Responds to and resolves functionality problems in a timely manner. Recommends solution to project team and management where appropriate. Supports test environments, including populating them with test data. Uses automated test tools and automates testing to the highest degree desirable. Analyzes input and output of test data. Identifies discrepancies between requirements and expected results. Documents exceptions in test log/exception tracking tool and retests. Recommends closure.. Has a basic understanding of client business functions, technology needs, tools, and other applications that interface with client systems. Helps to elicit the business criteria used to evaluate IT vendor products and perform Product Acceptance testing. Has a solid understanding and complies with IT policies and procedures, especially those for quality and productivity standards that enable the team to meet established client service levels. Has a solid understanding and complies with Information Security policies and procedures. Assists with verification of deliverables meet Information Security requirements. *Describe the specialized knowledge, experience, and technical skills that must be applied to meet the position's responsibilities. Note the minimum years of work experience needed -- general business experience vs. specifically related experience (e.g., computer skills, LAN knowledge, graphics). Please list languages, platform, mfr. (e.g. Microsoft), version, and Integrated Development Environment (IDE). Ex: Visual C, Borland C, C++, Visual Basic, Java, NT3.51/NT 4.0, Visual Studio ver. 7.0. All qualifications are assumed to be required unless stated preferred.* Skill Set: Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience. Minimum of five to ten years System and Integration Testing; one year technical writing experience preferred. Minimum of five years Financial Services Industry experience preferred Strong written and oral communication skills, including interviewing and facilitation skills. Strong analysis and problem solving skills. Strong attention to detail.
