The manager intends to extend an offer within the six month time frame. Implement enhancement programming for Teradata Data Warehouse applications utilizing stored procedures, SQL and Teradata Utilities. Design, implement and test programs specified by Business Analysts and reporting requirements. Create scripts to extract and load data to and from Teradata platform. Assist the data warehouse Business Analysts and other staff with the utilization and implementation of Business Objects universes and reports. Provide technical direction and coordinate with management throughout projects. Generate proposals for modifications, including preliminary plans and recommendations of application and development software. Direct the presentation, discussion, and explanation of all technical aspects of the proposed projects to Justice Data Warehouse (JDW) management and customers, providing specific purpose, operation, implementation, and maintenance objectives. Work with JDW management to determine internal resource requirements for projects. Participate as a JDW team member and follow all self directed work team principles. Using report generation tools, utilities, or application code, create ad hoc reports as requested by senior staff or customers. Recreate lost reports, files, or data as needed. Review monthly processes to automate, where practical. Coordinate and perform system development, programming, implementation, and maintenance activities. Analyze and administer system management processes including availability, storage management, capacity planning, system performance, data modeling, and system security. Analyze agency operations and procedures and determine feasibility for automation and prepare workflow timelines. Prepare systems documentation and develop program code. Analyze, develop, test, and document best practices for planning, designing, and adding new agency databases, as well as developing the procedures to link new data to other existing databases on JDW. Work in conjunction with CJJP administrative and senior staff to enhance JDW capabilities. Troubleshoot and modify failed code and scripts so they work correctly and efficiently. As an agency expert, provide technical expertise and direction to management and staff on how JDW could be utilized for emerging data needs. Applicant must possess a working solid knowledge of complex SQL. Additionally, preference will be given to applicants who possess a working knowledge of Teradata Utilities, Business Objects, and ETL skills and tools or who demonstrate the ability to quickly learn and apply these skills. The successful applicant will be expected to work with a variety of databases that have a high level of complexity.
