Role: Sr. Endeca Developer Location: Pittsburgh, PA Duration: 6 Months+ Role: Sr. Endeca Developer Role Description: This position will work within the DTD (Digital Technology and Delivery) group to develop and implement E-Business initiatives and technical projects. Candidate must be able to translate business needs into effective technical solutions using J2EE, IBM Websphere Commerce and other E-Business technologies like Endeca search engine. Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of E-Commerce systems and services, search and browse web systems that support the company’s E-Commerce business objectives. Work independently or be part of a team that builds and integrates interactive web sites, applications, and services for both internal and external customers. Must have an in-depth understanding of the software development lifecycle and be able to communicate project status, issues, and resolutions. Required Skills: Emphasis should be on eCommerce Search and Endeca experience 1. Must have experience doing requirements analysis and recommending cost effective and justifiable solutions 2. Must have experience with J2EE architectures, design patterns, complete application development lifecycle of J2EE, EJB, JMS, JSP, and Java Servlets; proficiency in ANT, application servers (preferably IBM Websphere), XML and Unix; working knowledge of UML modeling techniques, JDBC, SQL, RDBMS’s and Struts preferred. Oracle or SQL server required. 3. Experience with distributed version control systems such as GIT or Mercurial is desirable. 4. Experience working in Agile development environment would be a plus. 5. Hands on work experience with Hybris, Adobe CQ5, ETL tools and Endeca search engine would be a plus. 6. Excellent verbal and written communications skills, ability to communicate effectively with managers, business analysts, web engineers, architects and other technical departments 7. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities with a solid understanding of diverse environments and components - mainframe, Unix, Windows, database, networks, etc Be highly motivated to troubleshoot issues and adopt new technologies. Desired Expoerience: • 3-5 years of web application development using Java and web technologies • Bachelors Degree Responsibilities/Expected Deliverables: 1. Delivery of complex web applications on schedule with high reliability and scalability 2. Produce high quality code, test all delivered work and create solid documentation 3. Work closely with project managers, development managers, business analysts, and architects to design, develop, unit test, debug and maintain web applications, web services and other related features based on functional requirements and scope of work. 4. Contribute and confirm to DTD adopted software development standards. 5. Participate in production deployment and provide assistance to the production support group as needed. 6. Participate in performance tuning of web applications.
