I’m a bit surprised by this, because I see that already working with Guile:

(import (srfi srfi-1))
(assoc 0 (alist-cons 0 '(a b c) '()))
;; => (0 a b c)
(assoc-ref (alist-cons 0 '(a b c) '()) 0)
;; => (a b c)
