Land in North East being acquired by racist groups December 21, 2010 03:12 pm
A certain organized group of individuals are currently systematically acquiring land in the North East areas. These lands are being attained according to political necessities. Secretary of the Patriotic National Movement Wasantha Bandara said. The lands are being acquired in hundreds of acres, surrounding the Sinhalese villages and the Sinhalese people living in the area are being cornered due to this, he said during a press briefing in Colombo today (December 21). Wasantha Bandara accused that the aim of this act is to prevent the second generation of these people from obtaining any of the land. “These lands which were freed with the sacrifice of thousands of lives are skillfully being handed over to racialist groups” he pointed out.
