Answer: People are at different levels of mind development. The more developed of mind are more aware of their minds and the wrongs that they do than others so tend to notice the wrongs and subsequent suffering experienced. This does not mean that those who do not and are not aware about the wrongs they do, tend to get away with it. They also suffer but are not aware of it due to delusion. Please note that while having a sense of shame (hiri) and fear (ottappa) of doing wrong are good qualities, constantly being guilty over wrongs done is unhealthy and is a defilement for the mind. Guilt too (while being a natural consequence of doing wrong and having an aware mind) should be removed from the mind using various techniques such as meditation and wise reflection. Question: How does meditation help on to develop wisdom? Answer: Meditation allows one to gains insights about oneself ad others (as the mind becomes pure, unclouded and undeluded from the meditation), thus allowing wisdom to arise in relation to those subjects. The untrained, clouded and deluded mind tends to miss fine details and also not gain insight. So regular meditation is paramount for the gaining of wisdom. Dhamma Practice for Youths & Beginners This is a questions that seems to be on the minds of a lot of youths; 'What do we as young people pracitice as Buddhists?' The answer is initially you should become established in 1. dana/giving, 2. sila/morality/precepts and 3. bhavana/meditation. While you are practicing these three on a daily basis, investigate the Noble Eightfold Path, which is not just theory but is the foundation of our practice. This is the pracitice that will get us to Nibbana. The Noble Eighfold Path is also called 1. sila/morality, 2. samadhi/concentrated calm, 3. panna/wisdom - which leads to the awakening of Nibbana. So this is what needs to be done initially becomes established and strong in dana, sila, bhavana and then gradually progressing onto sila, samadhi, panna.
