Jai Hind, The apponitment of Nitin Gadkari as BJP President is welcome, while Sushma Swaraj as leader of Lok Sabha is a mis-match. To start with, Nitin Gadkari has made BJP look younger by six years. He is 62 as compared to his predicessor by that amount. His performance in promoting all sections of nationalist Indians will show his suitabilty and not merely playing gimmicks - 'dalit cards' and working for the poor sections of the society' will make him acceptable. Others are already doing this, the likes of Mayawatis, Paswans, and Mulayam Singhs with Dalit Muslims cards, while Mamtas, Samtas, Jayalalithas, and Communists are holding cards for the poors. The need is to care for all BHAARAT-VASIES, and not to carve voter segments of 'Dalits - Non-dalits' and 'Rich-Poors'. He has not said about the condition of Hindus, who are being ailenated in the land of their own origin. Thus, as for as Hindus are concerned he has not yet put his best foot forward! Sushma Swaraj, a good orater, has been a mere faminine show piece of BJP. Her past is a long list of failures reflecting favoritism of the BJP's brand. She started her political career as junior minister in Haryana as a reward for participation in JP's movement. She cannot win an election in Haryana even today, leave aside expecting her to be a BJP chief minister in her home state. Howevr she continued to be rewarded by Vajpayee and Advani with some prominant post in the party due to her loyality and close proximity. She was nominated by BJP duo to replace Sahib Singh Verma, who had performed and is still well remembered as a chief minister of Delhi. Expectedly, Sushma Swaraj was dislodged from the chair within a short period, by then a new comer Shiela Dixit for ever. Thereafter, BJP has remained out of power in Delhi, even when the party had favorable issues to contest. As Minister of Information and Broadcasting she did nothing to counter anti national media. She did nothing for the promotion of cultural values of Bhaartiya Sanskriti. To her Ram Mandir movement was regarded as an encased cheque! She has simply remained in lime light for contesting elections against Sonia Gandhi, enetring Parliament through safe seats or backdoor via Rajya Sabha. Her identity with women reflected only on the eve of Karva Chauth ceremony that she performed for the well- being of her husband. This is what other Hindu house wives also do, but mostly out of the media. Couldn't BJP think of Yashwant Sinha, Anantha Kumar or some body else out of the existing lot of MPs? If they have no one else, Hema Malini is surely capable of establishing herself with the youths, women and all sections. She can win more votes against Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi put together, but Sushma Swaraj has proved to be a looser twice and is no match against even Uma Bharti. With Advani still clinging on a higher political perch it can be within any body's guess to predict Sushma Swaraj's performance. BJP can see her future now. The circle is going to take a full turn and BJP will be reduced to the strength of two in the Parliament unless RSS applies breaks. However, Hindus need not loose haert - continue doing Surya Namaskars, keep fit throughh Kapal Bhaati Pranayam and join Bhaarat Swabhiman movement of Swami Ram Dev. Whenever in distress, we have been going to the Rishies for guidance. At least he is capable and has been performing well. Chand K Sharma
