India and Pakistan are trading diplomatic barbs over cricket in the latest
setback to efforts to improve relations between the two nuclear rivals, who
have had strained ties since the 2008 Mumbai attacks. An auction of players
at the Indian Premier League (IPL), the world's richest cricket tournament,
ended with no bids for 11 Pakistanis.

Cricket has often been a source of strengthening ties. In the past,
politicians from both sides have turned to cricket to reduce tension and
tried to boost cultural links in what experts have called "Track-II
Diplomacy" at times of intractable diplomacy.

Situation is not the same...

Pakistan Says ...

This would adversely impact the peace process. Pakistan also stopped a team
of parliamentarians from traveling to India. , "I want to make it clear that
whether it is India or any other country in the world, their citizens would
have to face (the) same behaviour as meted out to our people," Pakistan's
Interior Minister Rehman Malik.

India Says....

The IPL gives Pakistan an additional issue to prepare its ground that India
is unfriendly, and such things will vitiate the atmosphere, The Indian
Government dismissed Pakistan's concerns, saying visas had been issued to 17
Pakistani players. "Pakistan should introspect on the reasons which have put
a strain on relations between India and Pakistan, and have adversely
impacted on peace, stability and prosperity in the region," a foreign
ministry statement said.

Was Indian government really behind the mess?

Seventeen Pakistani cricketers were issued requisite Indian visas at very
short notice in December 2009 and January 2010 to participate in IPL 2010, If
indian government would have really tried to stop pakistani players from
taking part in IPL they could have done it before issuing Visa. Moreover
Government has nothing to do with IPL, on selection of players and various
exercises that are connected with it. So, Pakistan will have to draw a line
between where Government of India is connected and where Government of India
is an actor.

Only reason of no-bid for Pakistani players

Before the bidding process , IPL franchises were worried about the
availability of Pakistani players that whether they would be able to make it
for the complete tournament. Because One more attack and that will make
things worse for Pakistani players in India.Terrorists are waiting for such
an opportunity.Anyways India's trust on Pakistan was always broken by them
during 2 decade.

Was that the only Way?

Well IPL franchises could have done better while they were choosing players,
they could have chosen atleast one player and such a situation could have
been easily avoided.

Important History of IPL

Nobody either pakistan or India should forget , what had happened to IPL
last year, when indian government did not assisted the IPL during election
and they blew up Lalit modi, so ultimately Modi was left with no option
other than to host a domestic tournament in a another country. So that means
Indian government has no control over IPL.

Reason for creating this Issue..

Pakistani government has got its people behind us this time around by
putting false allegation directly on India government,After 26/11 Pakistan
government was cornered from all around the world, Now since they have got a
tip of a tale , they started crying foul again in the same way they inserted
poison in the Pakistani citizens mind that Indians are behind attack in
Pakistan (despite of taliban's claim on each and every attack).

India has no time to waste on such useless nonsense Militant Jihadi
thoughts. India has always said that few people in Pakistan are against
India from the day of partition, outcome of that was the war of 1965,1971
and kargil War, all started by pakistan. So nothing needs to be
clarified.Pakistani government will never accept their mistakes and thier
involvement (Famous example - Flip flop on Kasab , First they said Kasab is
not pakistani later they agreed him being a citizen os pakistan and many
more..)So its just part of their self made instant strategy.

Shail
