Dear Members

In My Name is Khan, Shahrukh Khan plays an autistic Muslim who suffers
discrimination in the United States after the September 11, 2001, would it
have made more sense that the movie theme revolved around Mumbai's Nov 26
attacks instead of American Sep 11.

Seems bollywood is taking Indians for a ride. We have to sympathise Sep 11
but not what is happening in our own backyard.

Karan Johar also says," We have to reach out to the Muslim community." Can I
ask, why is it not the other way round? Why is it always one way? Is there
something wrong in our thinking? Please answer.

Because of the strong Islamic content in My Name is Khan, there is a connect
for a large Muslim audience which, I feel, must watch this film and it is up
to us to reach out to reach out to them effectively. It is about goodness
and humanity, both universal concepts. And though, the story is based in the
US and may have an international texture, its core and gut is Indian, which
is why the pan-Indian audience.
