Hi there,

You may (by default) only connect back to the server (ip-addr) that the
applet was loaded from, i.e. the sshd and the httpd must be reachable on
the same ip-addr (e.g. a firewall). If you don't want to run a full httpd
in this way only to serve the page which contains the applet you might
check out <http://www.orl.co.uk/vnc/>, somewhere there you will find a
minimalistic httpd serving only one page/applet (I have not had time to
check this out).

This is the default security settings of the browser, however depending on
the browser you are using you may "relax" the security settings so the
applet is allowed to connect to "anywhere" (you don't want all applets
doing this though...). The system clipboard is another thing that an
applet can't utilize by default.

In the next version of MindTerm you will be able to use a
(cryptographically) signed jar-file which will enable the applet to
request (acquire) permissions to use the system clipboard and of course to
connect to anywhere (it can also be permitted to save/load files on the
local disk), then the applet-version will be almost a "full" ssh-client.

Cheers,

/Mats
