Sorry, I meant to direct that remark more to the SSH folks than to you.
I suspect though that they're not really interested in pointing people
at external sources of information, or they would already have done so.

I was almost wondering if employees.org had web-crawler/robot inhibitors
or something....

I tried "SSHFAQ" on hotbot again, and that was much more successful,
with only two results, your URL on top, but unfortunately without
knowing that this might be a unique keyword from having seen a copy it's
unlikley many people would use only one word for such a search.

I tried "ssh faq" again and this time your URL came up 19 (out of
5,800!). Perhaps it rose up because I had clicked on it (they do
click-through accounting now). AltaVista found only 383, but your URL
didn't appear within the first 20 pages. For "SSH FAQ" AltaVista's
first choice is for the "Soap, Sundry & Herb FAQ", believe it or not.

Unfortunately the old URL, and mirrors of it still show up an awful lot,
and there's no indication in the old copy that there's a much newer and
more relevant one available elsewhere.

The comp.security.ssh FAQ as recorded in most FAQ archives also seems to
be the old one.

I don't know too much about registering for search engines, but I think
it might be a good idea to try and update all the FAQ archives
(particularly faqs.org and of course cis.ohio-state.edu), and/or perhaps
even to do a monthly posting of the ASCII FAQ to comp.security.ssh.
