I'm working on compiling a "standard" installation for the company I work
for... documenting versions & packages and so on... I installed ssh-1.2.26
without problems (both times) but the last time it worked - this time????

There were no error messages when I ran ./configure and I did see it mention
the inclusion of IDEA etc.

What I noticed is that when I connect with my ssh client (windows) I have to
specifically allow the DES cipher which I did not have to do before...

<FROM CONFIGURE RESULTS>
checking whether to include the IDEA encryption algorithm... yes
checking whether to include the Blowfish encryption algorithm... yes
checking whether to include the DES encryption algorithm... no
checking whether to include the ARCFOUR encryption algorithm... no
checking whether to include the none encryption algorithm... no
<END>

Any ideas?

I must have done things in a different order this time as opposed to last...
but what?

My client used to connect without a problem with IDEA, 3DES, BLOWFISH
enabled...

with this install it requires DES to be enabled as well... presumable this
means the server is now defaulting to or only has available this cipher...

BUT WHY???

thanks in advance,

mitch
