I think you should just give a try to Perl/Tk or Tcl/Tk. It can wrap any command-line session you want in a nice GUI - you still have to develop it yourself, though... You can _always_ do a GUI wrapper to a command-line tool. In any language. In any environment I know of. You only need to drive it redirecting its stdin, stdout and stderr ....
